I am not too sure if this song is super famous or not but I don’t care, I’m still going to write about it and include it in this week’s blog post.
I initially found AJ Mitchell through YouTube, like pretty much every other artist I listen to, I came to know his music through the useful list of YouTube recommendations. I initially listened to the song ‘Girls’ and absolutely loved it and despite loving it, I for some reason, did not actively listen to any of his other music. Until yesterday, when I was scouring Spotify for some new music to listen. I have definitely heard ‘Used To Be’ multiple times before but I don’t know where or when.
Anyway, the song is very ‘pop like’ but has huge elements of soul within it. It has a chorus that is repeated many times throughout the song making it very catchy. Like every other song I recommend, this song is no exception to my terrible habit of listening to songs on repeat. Yes, this song has been played at least 50 times in the past 24 hours. (I guess that just means it’s a very good song you should check out.)
If you want to listen to the song you can listen to it here or you can listen to his new EP Hopeful.
Thank you for reading.

So I first found Eben’s music through Why Don’t We. Honestly, the whole of the Past Hundred Days Ep is amazing but for some reason, this has been the song that I have had on repeat. It has a great upbeat energy, that is paired beautifully with a captivating opening. It is one of those songs that is upbeat enough to dance to but also chill enough to sway to. Recently it’s been one of my go-to songs when I don’t know what to listen to. I would highly recommend you to not only listen to ‘That’s Alright’ here but also listen to the whole of the Hundred Days Ep.
The first song to start this series off is ‘Be Alright’ by Dean Lewis. I was introduced to the song a week or 2 ago by a friend of mine. I instantly fell in love with it and has been on repeat since, for a matter of fact I am listening to the song as I write this blogpost. The song talks about learning to move on from someone. I think my favourite thing about the song is how down to earth the lyrics are. They are not complicated, they are simple and to the point yet, convey the right emotions amazingly. I would highly recommend you to check the song out here.
One of the first advice you get when creating a blog is “have a niche”. It is very clear from my pasts posts that I definitely do not have a niche. I guess it could be categorised as lifestyle, however, I personally feel the label ‘Lifestyle Blog’ does not exactly fit my blog. My blog is home to a variety of posts. From concert experiences to social movements and campaigns, my blog has definitely gone through phases. I have taken the time to read and visit other websites and I am still not too sure on what niche I want to follow, that is if I want to follow one at all.
I know that I definitely want to post more frequently and consistently. Therefore most of my posts are going to be written in advance, so don’t be alarmed if the dates don’t always make sense. If you want to see a specific type of content then feel free to comment and share your views. I always love hearing from you.
Thank you for taking time out of your day to visit my website and I hope you stick around.
I understand that Behind Stress is not a very common blog name, even though it was taken on Instagram. To be honest it was not exactly what I imagined I would call my blog. However, after having the blog for about 2 years, I have grown to like it and it has grown on me.
You see, the world around us moves fast. Growing up in the city I was no stranger to the hustle and bustle of cars and the rush of people trying to get to work, I like it, but what I don’t like is how someone can get so caught up in their head and walk through life on autopilot. So many people stress about the past, the future and a million other things that they forgot to stop and look behind the stress that constantly clouds their heads. I am not so good at ‘living in the moment’ myself but I try my best. This blog almost acts as a reminder for myself. At the end of the day, this blog is where I hope to share little things that make life a little less stressful and showcase its true beauty.
I don’t always know what I am going to post but I guess that is the charm of blogging. Your writing, your vision, your knowledge, is always evolving. When I first made this blog I was tempted to delete it as I did not like the name, but now 2 years later I am so thankful to have this blog name. I am thankful to have this platform and to be able to write on it. Thank you.
I just realized all my current posts have been about music (and I am really enjoying writing about it). Anyway, this is going to be a relatively short post on my current top 5 songs, they are in no particular order.
- Youth by Shawn Mendes featuring Khalid
- Say Amen by Panic! At The Disco
- Hair Too Long by The Vamps
- Youngblood by 5 Seconds Of Summer
- Naked by James Arthur
I understand that some of these songs may no longer be ‘new’ but I still like them. Each song on this list makes me feel an emotion, whether that emotion is happiness or sadness. Music has this cool power to make anyone and everyone feel an emotion. Now my favourite songs may not be your favourite songs but, I guess it at least rules out the songs you don’t like so can find the ones you do like (right?). Nevertheless, I hope you enjoyed the post and stick you along for future posts.
